Rob Callander

Managing Director and Founder of Himalayan Roadrunners, Rob lived in Kathmandu for many years after his long time residency in Vermont where he owned and operated a logging company. A diesel mechanic by trade and BSA & Triumph restorer, his love of adventure, mountains and riding, led him to guiding treks and motorcycle expeditions throughout the Himalaya including the first assent by a motorcycle group of Khardung La in Ladakh, the world's highest motorable pass.

 

 




Ed Shuttleworth

Managing our UK office near Ashford in Kent, Ed was brought up near Kendal in the English Lake District. After completeing his basic training with the British Army he opted for a career as a commodity trader which took him in the 80's to London, Hong Kong and Switzerland. In 1991 he left his job in commodities and set out alone to ride his KTM "Incas" from London to Bangkok. After a brief foray into bar ownership in Kathmandu in the mid 90's he decided to establish North Siam Roadrunners and combine his enjoyment of motorcycling and travelling in South East Asia.

 




Andrew Duncan
Born and raised in Kenya before serving with the 2nd Gurkha Rifles in Hong Kong, Borneo and Belize, Andrew is fluent in Swahili and Nepali. Now based permanently in Kathmandu, Andrew is an expert on the Jungle Regions of Nepal's Terai and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.

 

 






Charles Gay
Charles first came to Nepal in the Peace Corps in 1969, and has been trekking, riding and living there ever since. He has led and organized dozens of treks in the Nepal Himalaya and is an avid sailboat racer during summers off the coast of Northern California. Fluent in Nepali and conversant in Tibetan, Charles was instrumental in operating the first motorcycle tour across the Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan in March 1997.

Ranjit Singh

Ranjeet Singh is one of the best motorcycle mechanics in all of India and specilaizes in the Royal Enfield Bullet as well as restorations of other old British Motorcycles like Triumph, BSA & Norton, as well as vintage Vespa Scooters. Recently Ranjeet has opened up his own Royal Enfield dealership in Rishikesh India but still joins a Roadrunners tour when possible!

 

 




Gyan Bahadur Lama

 

Born in the Terai region of Nepal south of Kathmandu, Gyan came to us in the very beginning as part of a support truck welding contract and has been with us every since! Later trained by the expert Royal Enfield mechanics of New Delhi's reknowned Karol Bagh motorcycle centre, Gyan has run every trip Roadrunners has ever operated and is now and is THE top motorcycle mechanic & guide in the Himalaya!
