California Dreaming? San Francisco was recently voted the Best Motorcycling City in the USA by Motorcyclist Magazine! And not without good reason! Great weather, tons of good restaurants and motorcycle hangouts and easy access to some of the World's Best Motorcycling Roads make this city a winner! This tour combines the absolute best of Northern California on new Triumph Bonnevilles (or any other similar size bike you like from Dubbelju Stable) on a 9 day circular Ride, starting in San Francisco and out across the famous Golden Gate Bridge onto Marin County's amazing Coastal Highways and the Majestic Redwood Forests of Mendocino & Humbolt Counties for which the area is famous, before taking on the sweeping mountain roads along's California Northern Oregon Border around picturesque Mount Shasta which rises abruptly from miles of level ground to over 10,000 ft , before entering the Cascade Mountains and Lassen Volcanic Park, another highlight of the trip, winding down with a ride through the restored old Gold Rush town of Nevada City and on into the Napa & Sonoma Valleys know worldwide as a premium winne growing region with a night of rejuvenation at a Napa Country Spa! Our last nights celebrations will be in a Motorcycle Museum like Restaurant in downtown San Francisco!







 

 

Day 1 - Arrive San Francisco, California
Roadrunners staff will meet you at San Francisco Airport. Transfer into San Francisco city to our overnight downtown hotel accommodations. Evening free to relax after your long flight or explore the city!

Day 2 - Point Reyes Station

After breakfast transfer to our motorcycling shop where after a run down of safety precautions , check of personal equipment, and motorcycle assigment & orientation, we will set off on the streets of San Francisco and out over the Golden Gate Bridge towards our lunch stop near Mount Tamalpais. Tremendous views back towards the Golden Gate, San Francisco, Alcatraz and the Pacific from Marin Headlands! Stunning after lunch ride over Mt. Tamalpais with continuous views overlooking the ocean. Late afternoon arrival in the small town of Pt. Reyes Station.

Day 3 - Mendocino - Fort Bragg

Great ride up the coast along the legendary Pacific Coast Highway through picturesque Bodega Bay and our lunch stop near Jenner. Following the Coast a ways more, we will turn off on the Scagg Sprngs Road heading inland through dense forest and farm land until we hit Interstate 101 for a short blast before turning back to the Coast via the Anderson Valley Road. Good run here starting with fast mountain highway twisties into high open ranch land, before riding through the amazing Navarro Redwoods! We meet the Pacific again at the Albion River and Ride to Fort Bragg for overnight.

Day 4 - Ferndale
Early morning departure back on the Pacific Coast Highway though Fort Bragg and a great stop for breakfast at Eggheads! Classic Northern Cal rocky coast riding this morning, then inland to the town of Leggitt where shortly thereafter we will meet the famous Avenue of the Giants, no better place anywhere on earth to be on a Triumph Motorcycle! Running through what has to be the most impressive Redwood Stand in all of the Northwest, we will turn off towards Honeydew and Ride through the Roosevelt Redwoods and stop enroute for a packed lunch! Afternoon ride along the Lost Coast and down into the antique Victorian village of Ferndale for overnight. Evening free to relax at one of the local pubs! Try Curly's Grill!

Day 5 - Weed
Short Ride this morning for our breakfast stop at a favorite place in Eureka, followed by a quick ride up the interstate highway to our turnoff near Arcata onto Route 299 for our long afternoon's traverse through Marble Mountain Wilderness Area and Klamath National Forest! Late afternoon arrival in Weed at the foot of stunning 14,162ft Mount Shasta.

Day 6 - Lassen Volcanic Park - Nevada City
Long days Ride as we turn south on fast moving Route 89 towards our early lunch stop at JJ's near Old Station, before turning into Lassen Volcanic National Park, last eruptions in the 1920's, and work our way up 10,457Ft Lassen peak with commanding views of the surrounding area! Moving on, we will follow the road towards Sierraville and turn onto Rt 49 with late afternoon arrival into Nevada City. Evening free to explore this interesting old restored Gold Rush town!

Day 7 - Napa Valley
After a liesurely breakfast, tour continues west through Grass Valley and on to our lunch stop near Clear Lake. Afternoon arrival at our overnight accommodations in Calistoga at the Village Spa in the Napa Valley! Rest of the day & evening free for a massage and soak in one of the nearby hot mineral pools!

Day 8 - Napa - San Francisco
Morning free for a short Ride through surrounding vinyards & countryside followed by lunch in either St. Helena or Sonoma. Afternoon Ride back over the Golden Gate and into San Francisco City. Group dinner and last night out starting with drinks at a Motorcycle Museum like Bar & Restaurant!

Day 9 - Tour Ends
Transfers to San Francisco's International Airport for flights home or to onward destinations.

What’s Included
All hotel, motel and B&B accommodations in Northern California. All breakfasts. Packed lunches when required. New Triumph Bonneville Motorcycle or a Harley or BMW of your model choice (some models require a small surcharge) , equipped with leather saddle bags & rear carrier, (no carriers on our Scrambler models) back up mechanical support & vehicle with adequate space for seating & luggage. Pre-departure information pack including California Road Map & Roadrunners Tour T-shirt.

What’s Not Included
International airfares . USA visa fees, cold drinks, alcoholic beverages, bottled water, laundry service, gratuities, airport taxes, and any excessive overweight luggage charges on departure from San Francisco Airport.

Motorcycle Insurance & Damage Deposit
Motorcycle Insurance is required at USD$25/day and not included in with the tour cost. A safety deposit of USD$1500 is also required prior to motorcycle assignment via credit card. This is an authorization process only and will not charge credit card unless damages occur.

A Word of Caution

Motorcycling the coastal highways & mountainous areas of the Northern California is surely one of the best ways to experience the regions rich cultural history, friendly people, and unequaled scenery. At the same time, motorcycling does have its dangers - Especially on narrow mountain roads with unpredictable traffic & quick changing weather conditions. This tour operated by Himalayan Roadrunners Ltd. should be undertaken by fit, experienced riders with an open mind for changing conditions.
