Rob Callander
Managing Director and Founder of Himalayan Roadrunners, Rob has lived in Kathmandu for many years as well as on an off-grid remote farm in the hills of Vermont. A trained diesel mechanic and certified British Bike Nut, Rob divides his time between the Himalaya, Northern Thailand and Vermont. His love of adventure, mountains and riding, led him to guiding treks and motorcycle expeditions throughout the Himalaya & South East Asia, including the first ascent by a motorcycle group of Khardung La Pass in Ladakh India, the World’s Highest Motorable Road (1994), the first motorcycle tour across The Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan (1997), the first organized ride from Kathmandu to Lhasa, Tibet in 1998, and more recently, lead the first motorcycle group to cross notorious Shan State in Burma back into Thailand’s Golden Triangle, a 2 week unprecedented epic ride that was spectacular!

Jack Callander
Jack spent the first years of life on the tank of a BSA Thunderbolt Police Special and began dirt biking at the age of 5. Now college graduated, and a student pilot, his love for motorcycling and exploration puts him right out in front of the pack. You will find Jack working on most of Roadunners tours in the Himalaya and S.E. Asia.

Gyan Bahadur Lama
Born in the Terai region of Nepal, south of the Kathmandu Valley, Gyan came on board in the early days of Himalayan Roadrunners as a welder and truck body builder. He was trained by expert Royal Enfield mechanics in New Delhi’s renowned Karol Bagh motorcycle center. Gyan is our chief mechanic, has run every trip Roadrunners has ever operated, and is the leader of our motorcycle support team.

Andrew Duncan
A former career soldier with the 2nd Gurkha Rifles, Andrew served alongside Gurkha soldiers from Nepal in the British Army for seventeen years. After taking early retirement in 1993 Andrew has lived mainly in Nepal where, in addition to leading motorcycle tours, he has led jungle safaris in Nepal’s terai, run a brewery and served as counter-terrorist consultant to a multinational hydroelectricity project during Nepal’s Maoist inspired “People’s War”. He has also run wildlife safaris in his original home in East Africa and served as a contractor to the US Department of Defense in Iraq and the US Department of State in Afghanistan. Andrew survived the earthquake of 25 April 2015 in Kathmandu and has so far survived the ongoing aftershocks. He has been actively involved in raising funds and helping the relief and reconstruction effort for the past year from his home in Kathmandu.

Ranjeet Singh
Ranjeet Singh is one of the best motorcycle mechanics in all of India and specializes in the Royal Enfield Bullet as well as restorations of other old British motorcycles such as Triumph, BSA & Norton, as well as vintage Vespa Scooters. Recently Ranjeet has opened up his own Royal Enfield dealership in Rishikesh, India, but still takes part in Roadrunner tours when time permits.
